Printed portrait is 16"x20", on 20"x24" Epson Ultra Smooth Fine Art Paper, a 100% cotton archival paper. Giclée print with pigmented inks that will last 200+ years. Each print is signed, numbered, and includes an artist statement and certificate of authenticity.
The subject of the portrait is Sara Millerey González, a 32-year-old trans woman from Colombia who was violently murdered by a gang on April 7, 2025. In broad daylight, she was brutalized and thrown into the Playa Rica River. Bystanders were warned not to help, so instead they recorded her and posted her to social media. She was eventually pulled from the river and died the following day from her injuries. 20% of the proceeds from this portrait will be donated to Caribe Afirmativo, a Colombian organization that supports displaced trans people by providing safe housing, healthcare and legal services.
The artist uses pages from Harry Potter books to create the portrait. The author has contributed purposefully and relentlessly to a culture that vilifies and endangers trans people around the world. The portrait destroys her work, replacing it with a memorial to someone that lost their life to the culture fostered by the author.
