The subject of the portrait is Sam Nordquist, a 24-year old trans man from Minnesota who was brutally killed in upstate New York in February 2025. The portrait is created from pages of Harry Potter books. The author has purposefully and relentlessly contributed to a culture that vilifies and endangers trans people around the world. This project seeks to provide healing to multiple generations of queer readers who found refuge in a magical world, only to have it tainted by the author's dangerous and harmful exploits.
