The subject of the portrait is Sam Nordquist, a 24-year-old trans man from Minnesota that was killed in upstate New York in February 2025. 20% of the proceeds from this portrait will be donated directly to his family.
The artist uses pages from Harry Potter books to create the portrait. The author has contributed purposefully and relentlessly to a culture that vilifies and endangers trans people around the world. The portrait destroys her work, replacing it with a memorial to someone that lost their life to the culture fostered by the author.
